Education

Dr. Shabana Gul Naz earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from the University of the Punjab, Pakistan. She went on to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Gynaecology and Obstetrics at Shaikh Zayed Postgraduate Medical Institute in Pakistan, followed by another Diploma in Gynaecology and Obstetrics from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan, also affiliated with the University of the Punjab.

Experience

Dr. Shabana brings 29 years of experience in general practice with a strong focus on women’s health and obstetrics. Before rejoining Danat Al Emarat, she was working as a General Practitioner at TruDoc Health Care LLC in Dubai, UAE. She has previously served at Danat Al Emarat as well. Her scope of practice includes the management of abnormal vaginal bleeding, menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, polycystic ovarian syndrome, complications in early pregnancy, bleeding during pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy, cholestasis of pregnancy, gestational diabetes, HPV infection, multiple gestation, premature birth, preterm labor, rupture of membranes, hypertension in pregnancy, placental abruption, placenta previa, and the care of pregnancy following esarean section. She also manages postpartum issues such as vaginal discharge and postpartum hemorrhage. 

Her clinical expertise encompasses the initial assessment, history taking, clinical examination, diagnosis, prescribing medications, recommending investigations, and interpreting lab results in collaboration with consultants from various specialties to ensure comprehensive care. She provides holistic support to expectant mothers, covering prenatal, natal, and postnatal care, and advises on reproductive health, childbirth, lifestyle, and dietary modifications. Dr. Shabana also addresses medical concerns related to pregnancy, including hypertension, diabetes, asthma, anemia, urinary tract infections, excessive nausea and vomiting, thyroid disorders, obesity, constipation, and decreased fetal movements. She is experienced in managing complex scenarios such as multiple pregnancies, breech presentations, miscarriages, and infertility, and in performing procedures including vaginal delivery, cesarean section, fetal surveillance, labor induction, and postpartum care. Her expertise further extends to treating menstruation disorders, chronic pelvic pain, polycystic ovarian disease, contraception, menopause, and recurrent miscarriages.

She speaks English, Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, and Arabic, allowing her to effectively communicate with a diverse patient population.
